Unfortunately, this nomination will get enough Republican and Democratic support to go through. It's a shame because this is a perfect opportunity for some bipartisanship. Republicans and Democrats should be united in rejecting this uniquely unqualified nominee.
The conservative groups in a tizzy will get over it. They'll moan and whine like they often do but come 2006 and 2008, they'll be canvassing neighborhoods for Republicans because they have nowhere else to go... and Bush and his cronies (e.g. Miers) know it.
